The Board of Education and the Administration is launching a new initiative to guide Lakewood Public Schools through a 3-5 Year Strategic Planning Process.  The purpose of this initiative is to help LPS develop new goals and strategies to continue offering an excellent education for our students, while using scarce public education resources in the most effective and efficient way.

Stakeholder feedback is an important part of the planning process.  Community members, parents, students, teachers and all district staff members will have the opportunity to give input on the strengths of the district, opportunities for improvement, and their vision for the district. Everyone is invited to attend the open community forums on November 13 at noon in the LHS, Media Center or November 19 at 6 p.m. in the LHS cafeteria. If you are unable to attend, please take a moment to complete a brief survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LakewoodSP

Welcome

Michael O'Mara, Superintendent - 616.374.8043

We are pleased and honored that parents consider Lakewood Public Schools as an educational choice for their students. Our community is proud of our newly renovated facilities, high quality of service, staff and the educational opportunities we provide for students. We have some of the best educational facilities in the area for our students to work in. With the recent addition of the technology infrastructure in each building, the student use of technology will be an emphasis for our teachers.

We are proud to be a part of a community that values education. The staff at Lakewood Public Schools works hard to provide individualized education programs that allow each student to excel. This along with our dedicated teaching staff, challenging curriculum and programs we position our students to accomplish our school vision; Preparing our students for the world of tomorrow.

We know well the trust that parents, students and community members place in us. We do our very best to communicate with parents and families to nurture a strong school/home partnership. We value our school and broad community, and work to keep the community informed of events and happenings of the school community.

These are a few of the reasons to choose Lakewood Public Schools. Please explore our website and learn about us. Parents are welcome to contact the district to make arrangements for a tour or to visit any of our school programs.
