Mission Statement
The mission of Lakewood Public Schools Library Media Program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.

The goals of the library personnel staff are:

  • To teach patrons how to use a library and how to find books in a library/media center.
  • To promote respect of library patrons, property and materials of the library/media center.
  • To offer positive opportunities to encourage library patrons to read.
  • To provide a variety of materials to challenge all library patrons within various types of books and readability levels.
  • To encourage library patrons to become responsible individuals.
  • To create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for library patronsL Library patrons include students and staff.

The National Constitution Center

Click on the boxes at the top of the screen labeled Preamble, Article I, Article II, Article III, Article IV, and Article V to learn more about the constitution.  Each page contains the written words of the constitution along with an explanation that is reader-friendly.

The U.S. Senate:  Reference

This site contains information about the Preamble, Articles I – VII of the Constitution and the various Amendments to the Constitution.  Each part of the Constitution is provided in the original text along with a side-by-side explanation.

Steve Mount, author of this site, has summarized the Constitution in a one-page document for easy reading entitled The Constitution Explained.  He has included more detailed information with every underlined word(s) for all the Articles and Amendments.

This site provides high resolution images of the Constitution of the United States a section at a time. (Note:  It takes over one hour to download this image.)  It also gives an in-depth history of the Constitution within the area labeled “Read More” along with the 27 amendments to the Constitution.
